Most US players new to online poker have no clue where to begin playing. A quick google search might bring up over 100 poker sites for US players with varying promotions, games, and restrictions, except much of that information is outdated since Black Friday which occurred on April 15th, 2011.

Don’t worry about breaking the law, poker sites will not accept your membership if your IP address resides outside their terms and conditions.
But for the US players, the choices are tougher. The security of your personal information and money is a big factor. You can never bee too careful when dealing with money on the internet. You want to find a poker room that WILL PAY YOU OUT! The security of your personal information is also key. Not only can your money be taken (look at Full Tilt Poker and Ultimate Bet – two of the largest online poker rooms ever and still owing US customers!) but your personal information is at risk!
The biggest issue with crappy US facing poker and casino sites is simply getting paid. Receiving a check a month after you request it, and then having it bounce when you try to deposit it is just not acceptable.
